A Modest Take // Return to Retro

From the looks of things, retro styles including fringe, bucket bags and suede are making a comeback for the transition from winter to spring. Tees and crossbody bags are already on my favorites list, and if I feel brave, I may dabble in fringe. Which return trends are you most likely to try out?

A Modest Take // Less is More

Crisp whites, bold blacks and shades of blues and greys have ruled 2014 summer palettes. 

Sometimes, simple just stands out more.

A Modest Take // Mixing Spring Trends

There are so many classic spring trends (i.e. bright colors, florals and heeled sandals) and some that are new to the scene that I'm excited to try -- for example, the grid print, perforated accessories and a cropped top 
(paired with the right high waist midi skirt for a modest look, of course!).

That being said, I was inspired to create looks by mixing and matching some of this year's trends for spring.

A Modest Take // The White Blazer

A big trend for Spring 2013 is black & white (if you can call that classic combo a trend). I've put together some outfit ideas to include additional trends like studs, cap toes, camo, stripes, and pops of color such as neon or cobalt blue. The common feature in each outfit idea is my new current favorite -- the white blazer.

The color burgundy and animal prints (especially leopard) are staples for fall. With a little creativity and confidence, you can even where them together! I don't own much of either, but these pieces caught my eye...
