To know me is to know that full skirts are a staple when it comes to my personal style. You can almost bet when you see me, I'll either be in a simple dress and blazer or a full skirt with a simple stylish top.

Chicwish is now 2-for-2 with this second skirt purchase of mine from this online shop that has quickly gained popularity, with good reason. (My first purchase was worn in a post back in the summer.) Without question, the two skirts I've purchased from Chicwish are my top two favorites in my closet right now.

My love for this grey and black grid print number goes beyond this multi-purpose outfit which I would totally wear to church, work, or even an event. I've found that it is so versatile, the possibilities of pairing it with both simple and statement pieces for form the perfect look for several different occasions are endless.

Yesterday was my birthday! It was a simple day spent with family and great food, an unbeatable combination. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to have enjoyed the no-fuss festivities and to experience another year of life. (I'm also grateful for the ability to wear heeled sandals in the winter, thanks to Florida's tropical climate.) Cheers!

Thanksgiving Threads

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. No matter how amazing or tough the year has been, there's always much to be thankful for. 

If you're still scrambling for a Thanksgiving outfit, try pairing a solid top in a color perfect for fall with a printed bottom. Make sure you have room to "expand," if you know what I mean.

I originally wore this look to church a few weeks back, but I would totally wear it to a daytime work event in the fall or Thanksgiving dinner. It's the perfect mix of comfy and festive.

Little Black Dress with a Twist

Every girl needs a little black dress (LBD). Extra points if you have a fun, casual dress with a twist for daytime. I got this one from Ross years ago, and even more than the adorable literal animal print (birds!), I love that it fit me when I was small, grew with me when I was pregnant, and is still flattering and faithful now that I... am not so small. Loyal until the end.

In honor of the last days of summer, I put together as many mid-year trends as I could to style this outfit: fringe, distressed denim, and white accessories. It's too bad festival season is over. This would have been the perfect festival ensemble with some sandals and a crossbody bag. Maybe next year.

In Florida, wearing white after Labor Day is... mandatory. Summer is basically just heating up with no sign of a cool down in sight. For the sake of making the look a bit more interesting, I threw on a blazer to take photos, but it came off right after the final "click" from the camera. Just being honest.

My go-to black pencil skirt can be forgiving some days; other days, not so much. Paired with my favorite denim shirt and statement ASOS heels, it served me well on this particular day.

In his one year old's class this week, my son is focusing on the letter A, the number 2, the heart shape and the color orange, and we're encouraged to work with him on these lessons at home as well. Since he helped me with today's post (literally – he climbed into my lap and proceeded to have a field day at photo editing) featuring this bright wall, I'd say we've got "orange" down.
