I love classic black and white combos and timeless closet staples like my zebra print skirt. I've had it for five years now which seems like forever. Can't imagine my closet without it. Considering the cost per wear ratio, I'm sure it was worth however much I paid for it.

Animal prints are the new black whenever fall and winter roll around, so let's see if I can keep this skirt for another five years.

South Florida been having the best weather of the year thanks to Hurricane Sandy. After the annoying wind and rain she put us through for three days last week, it's nice to have sunshine, cool breeze, and a break from the humidity.

To those who have already endured the worst of the tropical storm/hurricane, I hope not too much damage was done and that things will return to normal very soon. To the mid-Atlantic area --

Thanks to good weather (finally!) and careful coordination, the husband and I were able to take photos. Yay! I've been tied up lately with so many different things, but it's just not the same around here after a while without outfit posts. So here I am... Outfit posting :)

I like this easy ensemble because it includes so many of my favs: stripes, color, and thrifted "go-to" pieces. What more can a girl ask for? You know, besides a little more time each week to take

outfit photos. That we be great.

Please excuse everything that's wrong with these photos. I tried to edit away my tired face and make the photos look less self-taken, but to me it's still blatantly obvious that I'm no beauty queen after work and definitely not a photographer.

You see, the rain we've been having in addition to my new work schedule have been interfering with my normal photo-taking routine. So I took these. After work. At near-night. By myself... All bad ideas. (In fact, I'm surprised I even figured out how to turn on the camera!) But as a result of all the bad ideas, we at least ended up with some proof that I've been getting dressed. At least.

Yeah, I did it. I wore black and brown together. I know that's sort of taboo, but I figured if my shoes could do it, so could I... Especially since the leopard print cardigan seemed to justify the combo

as well.

I'm really glad burgundy is the "it" color for fall, mainly because of this dress. I've had it for going on four years now (I know this because Michelle Obama wore this dress during the 2008 Presidential Campaign), and I pull it out every fall and winter season. I love it because it goes well with dark layers and stockings or tights and booties. Call me a fashion forecaster or a creature of habit, but before burgundy was announced as an official 2012 fall trend, it was already my plan to have it in the lineup.
