Golden

Dress: The Limited | Blazer: XOXO via Macy's (old) | Shoes: Steve Madden via Nordstrom's Rack
Clutch: Express | Brooch: Gift

Yesterday was my grandmother's 71st birthday. I'm forever grateful for her kind words, unapologetic sense of humor, Godly example, and most of all her ceaseless prayers. She's the only living grandparent I have (sadly, my other grandmother passed away a few months after I did this post). Even though she's not going anywhere for a while, I want to make sure she knows how much I love and appreciate her.
The lovely Ivy C. Armstrong, then and now.
"Mom", you've come a long way and came forth as gold. I hope you enjoyed your birthday. I pray for many many many many many more to come!

  2. It's a blessing to have godly people in our lives, and a DOUBLE blessing when those individuals are elders that we can call family. Happy Birthday to her!

  5. Happy birthday to your grandma. You have matching smiles. My dad turned 75 this past year - yes, I said dad! I was born late in his life. I am so much more thankful lately for every day that passes and he's healthy and well. Although he's been blessed already, I ask God to keep him around longer for me and my future kids to enjoy, if it is His will. :-)

Also, thanks for today's scriptures. I've been going through some things lately, and I prayed my first sincere, focused prayer to God in weeks this morning. Since then, He's been sending me messages, including through those verses you shared. They also remind me of 1 Cor 10:13, Isaiah 55:8-9, and 1 Peter 2:9. Not sure who else these verses may encourage, but I figured why not share them as well.

Now back to fashion... I need a gold dress in my life! It totally suits my personality. The touches of black make the dress shine without the color being blinding or overwhelming.

Grandmothers are special people. My maternal Grandmother went home to Jesus in December. I have lots of wonderful memories of her.
